I am delighted to welcome you to Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur. Pharmacy being a professional course provides an expertise in manufacturing of medicines and their quality control, health-care service to patient, ensures safe and effective use of medication for better health and well-being. The goal of the Pharmacy program is to render professional skill, knowledge, abilities to students to serve in pharmaceutical industries, academic institutions, drug regulatory bodies, hospitals and to provide appropriate medication service to the patient. The wave of globalization has propelled the expansion of Indian pharmaceutical sector. India is the largest provider of generic drugs globally. India is ranked 3rd in terms of pharmaceutical production by volume and 14th by value.
Our department is committed to excellence in teaching, training, and research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. Department has well qualified and experienced Faculty Members, well-equipped laboratories, excellent library facility and sufficient industry exposure to prepare trained manpower in the field of pharmacy. The institute has been actively engaged in nurturing and fostering quality human resources to meet the needs of the industry through well structured basic and advanced pharmaceutical courses. In addition, vibrant interactions with various thought leaders and eminent scientists from Industry and Academia have been helping in grooming the students. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology is founded in year 2021 under the able leadership of Prof. Jay Prakash Pandey and offer four-year full-time B. Pharm. program approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. The Vision of Department is to establish a progressive centre of excellence in Pharmaceutical education and research by synergizing technologies with goal oriented research to catalyse the growth of life sciences and healthcare industries. B. Pharm. education today is facing the challenge of meeting the changing needs of pharmaceutical industry. The four-year B. Pharm. course offered by Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, is prepared considering the needs of industry, which gives more impetus for skill development. The Program is predominantly based on practice, interaction, and innovation with a strong focus on the healthcare system. This will enable students to practice pharmacy profession in a strong, skillful and determined manner to meet the needs and goals of industry, academia and research. The department specializes in training employable young pharmacy professionals in developing their knowledge and problem-solving skills in pharmaceutical industry. The interdisciplinary programs and cultural diversity at University campus sparks the spirit of innovative research and all-round development of its students.
Faculty members are all well qualified and are assisted by experts in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences to enable a holistic environment of learning. The department is with equipped state of the art infrastructure and equipments to support teaching learning process and research activity. The library has more than 500 books, e-books and latest journals of pharmacy from reputed publishing houses for use of faculty and students.
